BUSINESS TERMS OF SERVICE

This agreement sets out our Terms & Conditions for the services we will provide to you.

About ZLS

ZLS Consulting Limited is a fee-based consultancy firm.

We are unregulated. We have employee benefit and personal finance expertise, but we are not a traditional adviser. As we are unregulated, we do not sell financial products or recommend providers. We provide unbiased guidance and support to UK employers and their employees in relation to employee benefits and financial wellbeing.

We are committed to the quality of our client relationships and the service you receive.

How we work with you

An area that lots of people seem to need assistance with is personal financial management. We all have worries over certain aspects of our finances, but many will constantly put it off for another day as they don’t feel confident in making decisions or simply don’t know where to start.

We all want to feel comfortable with our finances, but it can be daunting without someone to assist and set us on the right path. Good financial management does not happy overnight. It is a constant journey throughout our working lives and having a solid foundation and a plan will reduce your stress and give you more peace of mind.

We can help you understand your workplace employee benefits better and help you with aspects of personal finances to improve your overall financial wellbeing.

I have employee benefit and personal finance expertise, but I’m not a traditional adviser. I am unregulated, meaning I do not sell financial products or recommend providers. If during our discussions I think you require regulated advice, I will explain the reasons and may be able to introduce you to an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).

We will always deal with you in a fair and open manner.

How we can help

Your employer may have engaged ZLS to provide you with an initial complementary meeting. This is a confidential, one to one virtual chat and a good starting point for us to understand what is important or causing you concern. It will generally last 45 mins, so it is important you have done some preparation to get the most out of it.

If you have come to us direct, without the involvement of your employer we charge a non-refundable fee of £50 for an initial chat to ensure attendance. Again, this is a confidential, one to one virtual chat for us to understand what is important or causing you concern. It will generally last 30 mins. If you engage us for further meetings, it is important you have done some preparation to get the most out of them.

Some initial aspects to consider:

Are you aware of what employee benefits you receive from your employer?
Do you understand these benefits and how they can help with aspects of your personal finances?
What are your main areas of concern or financial aspects you know you need to look at?
Can you prioritise what is most urgent, as generally it is more confusing to look at everything at once?
What does good look like? What position do you need to achieve so that you will achieve peace of mind?

Organising your financial paperwork
Get a better awareness of what you already have and simplify matters
Understand how your employee benefits impact your personal finances
Budgeting & creating more disposable income
Pensions aspects of both employer and personal plans
Regular savings & investment principles
Establishing some goals and a plan
Gradually help you become more confident to make financial decisions

The Client shall pay ZLS the fees in advance of work being conducted in line with the payment/ service schedule selected. Fees should be paid electronically or via bank transfer. We cannot accept cash as payment. The fees shall be payable in Pounds Sterling.

The cost of meeting time and any additional work is £75 - £100 per hour, depending on the type and complexity of the work. We can discuss the level of our fee if you have a particular aspect of work required. An Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) may be considerably more than this. I am currently non-vatable, which will save you some money. Meetings can be booked and paid in advance using the diary booking system.

Termination of Services

In the event of termination of this agreement, any fees due to ZLS shall be payable and no fees shall be refundable.

Indemnity

ZLS shall not, in any circumstances, be liable in respect of any matter where the matter complained of arose wholly or to the extent from inaccurate or insufficient information, data or documentation supplied by or on behalf of the Client.

Confidentiality, Privacy and Data Protection

Both parties shall keep all information of a confidential nature including financial data and shall not use any such information for any purpose other than the performance of their obligations under this agreement.

ZLS will ensure that they will at all times comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Laws. For the purposes of this Agreement, Data Protection Laws shall include the Data Protection Act 2018 (the “Act”), GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) to which it is applicable together with the retained EU law version of the General Data Protection Regulation known as the UK GDPR, and any code of practice or guidance published by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

We shall ensure the Client’s personal data is stored in such a manner that it is readily identifiable and segregated from other data held by us. We agree to delete or return all personal data to the Client as requested within seven days of termination of this agreement. ZLS shall notify the Client immediately, and in any event within 24 hours after becoming aware, of a data breach relating to the Services or the processing undertaken in respect of the Client’s data.

The Client acknowledges it has seen and reviewed the ZLS Privacy Statement and consents to us processing such data in accordance with the Privacy Statement.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with our advice or any aspect of our services, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to resolve your concerns.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland and the Parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.

Declaration

The Client agrees that all communications and information relating to the services are exchanged using electronic transfers, i.e.email. This could include confidential information such as reports.

You confirm your acceptance to these terms by engaging our services. We will not commence any activity until Services and payment have been agreed. For your own benefit and protection, you should read the terms of this agreement carefully before signing. If you do not understand any point please ask for further information.

If you are not happy to receive general information such as market updates and other such material about ZLS by email, please email us.

You agree that you are aware of the terms of the services offered and have read and agree to the fees.

You agree that this Agreement will come into effect from the Commencement Date and that you will pay ZLS fees by way of BACS or such other method of payment as agreed.
